Dennis Yazzie is a Ute artist of particular natural skill. With little to no training he used his natural intuition to create not only some of the regular production art designs for Cedar Mesa but also many one-of-a-kind collectible pieces such as this one.
The underlying colorbands were laid on with underglaze, as evidenced by the streaked burnout effect in some areas, and the detail and design work was done with acrylic.
